NEW CASTLE: Shortly after 11:00 P.M. this evening, Goodwill Fire company was on the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a single vehicle that rolled over. The overturned vehicle, a red Hyandai was sitting on its hood in the 100 block of E. 4th Street.
Officials had the intersection of East 4th and Harmony Streets closed to traffic while emergency crews worked to free its operator and clear the roadway.
The single vehicle accident, injured its operator, who was transported to Christiana hospital with non-life threatening injuries by Goodwill Fire company.
During the ordeal, the vehicle, also struck two other parked vehicles which sustained minor damages.
Witnesses say the operator of the vehicle, was driving erratically in the opposite direction on E. 4th Street.
They also say it appeared the operator realized he was driving in the wrong direction, panicked, hitting the brakes however, the vehicle’s braking system locked up forcing the vehicle to roll front end first and over on its hood.
It took crews more than an hour to clear the roadway.
New castle City Police are investigating.
