One Injured In Overnight Shooting In Wilmington

Wilmington: Wilmington Police are on the scene of a shooting that occurred shortly after 12:30 A.M. in the 1200 block of N. King Street in Wilmington.

According to police scanner reports, a man dressed in all black walked by the home and began shooting at the victim and ran South towards Rodney Square.

A security Guard chased the suspect but was unable to apprehend him.

Wilmington Police did not have N. King Street closed down however, one lane was closed at the crime scene and 13th street was closed in between N. Walnut Street and N. King St.

A woman was placed on a stretcher and transported to a local hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

It is not clear if the woman transported to a local hospital was struck by gunfire during the ordeal, or if she was experiencing another type of medical issue at the scene.
