DELAWARE STATE POLICE ARE CURRENTLY INVESTIGATING A MOTOR VEHICLE CRASH. A VEHICLE RAN OFF THE ROAD AND RAN INTO THE FRONT OFFICE AREA OF LAKE FORREST CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL!
Felton: Shortly after 6:15 P.M. Emergency responders were called to Killens Pond Rd for a report of a vehicle accident. When emergency responders arrived they found a 1999 Ford Explorer had crashed into the front office of Lake Forrest Central Elementary School located 5424 Killens Pond Rd.

According to a Delaware State police press release, a preliminary investigation reveals the incident occurred around 6:24 p.m. Wednesday January 18, 2017 when the operator, a 56 year old male, for unknown reasons, traveled off the north side of the roadway in a northeasterly direction across the grass, and came to rest in the front office area of the school.
According to police spokesman, Master Corporal Gary Fournier, The 56-year-old male, who was properly restrained, was transported by EMS to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where he is currently being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say the school was unoccupied by staff at the time of the incident. The crash is currently under investigation and no charges have been filed at this time.
