Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a Bear area restaurant that occurred early this morning.
Bear: The business was closed with the doors already locked however, two employees opened the door to let two armed men inside where they forced them back inside the business, and escorted them to the back office area, where they began emptying the business safe.
According to Master Corporal Jeffrey R. Hale, a police spokesman, the incident unfolded at approximately 12:38 a.m. this morning when police was summoned to the Hibachi Restaurant located at 1160 Pulaski Highway in Bear. He said, after the suspects emptied the business safe, the suspects then demanded and received cash and cell phones belonging to the victims before fleeing out of the rear door of the restaurant. The suspects were last seen running toward Bear-Corbitt Road. There were no injuries.
The first suspect was described as a black male. He was last seen wearing a blue sweatshirt, black jacket, dark colored jeans, white sneakers, and had a cloth partially covering his face. He was also armed with a gun.
The second suspect was also described as a black male. He was last seen wearing a red jacket, light-colored jeans, and dark sneakers. He also had a cloth partially covering his face.
There is no further physical or clothing description for either suspect available at this time. There is no video surveillance footage available.
