DELDOT announced today that re-striping and Bridge Work Will Require Nighttime Lane Closures on I-495 NB and Closure of Exit 1/U.S. Route 13.

WILMINGTON: The night closures will be effective Starting Sunday February 19th at 7:00 P.M. until Tuesday February 21st at 5:00 A.M. On 495 NB at U.S. route 13 and closure of Exit 1/U.S. route 13.

DelDOT’s contractor, Eastern Highway Specialists, Inc. will be performing re-striping on I-495 northbound at U.S. Route 13. At all times, one lane of traffic will be open to motorists. Exit 1/U.S. Route 13 will also be closed during these work hours.

On Tuesday, February 21 from 2 a.m. until 5 a.m., Exit 1/U.S. Route 13 on I-495 southbound will be closed for bridge work.

Detour Route for closure of Exit 1/U.S. Route 13: Terminal Avenue Exit to New Castle Avenue onto Rogers Road and return to U.S. Route 13.

Detour signage will be posted for motorists.

Motorists should be aware that construction personnel and equipment will be operating in close proximity to the travel lanes and anticipate lane shifts.
