Delaware State Police are currently investigating the armed robbery of a female which occurred in the parking lot of an area Walmart.
NEW CASTLE (DE): A Walmart customer was in the process of leaving the parking lot but she didn’t get very far. Police say the victim was a female customer of the Walmart, located at 117 Wilton Boulevard, New Castle. She was entering the driver’s seat of her car which was parked in the lot as the incident unfolded.
According to police spokesman, Jefferey R. Hale, at approximately 9:30 p.m. on Monday, September 25, 2017, a male suspect approached the victim’s car and prevented her from closing the driver’s side door.
He then displayed a handgun and demanded money from her. The suspect then inappropriately touched the female before removing an undisclosed amount of money from her wallet as well as her cell phone. He then fled on foot in an unknown direction. The victim was not injured.
The suspect was described as a black male approximately 25 years of age. He was 5’06” tall and was last seen wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and black jeans. There is no further physical or clothing description available.
