Delaware State Police have arrested 21-year-old Benjamin A. Lapore of Wilmington relating to the December 27th shooting that occurred at the Rackers Bar in Newark.
NEWARK (DE): A man who was involved in a physical altercation that ended with another man shot outside a Newark bar has been captured and arrested.
According to police spokeswoman, Melissa Jaffee, Banjamin A. Lapore was identified and detectives issued arrest warrants for his arrest.
Lapore was identified as the shooter after several patrons at the Racker’s Bar & Grill located in the 1200 block of Capitol Trail in Newark became involved in a physical altercation outside the establishment shortly after 11:15 P.M. on Monday December 27th.
The results of that altercation left a 28-year-old Newark man shot once in the abdomen. The victim was transported to Christiana Hospital and is listed in serious condition.
Lapore fled the scene but was stopped by Bridgeville Police department for a traffic violation on December 28th. Lepore was charged with Assault First Degree, Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited. Lepore was arraigned out of Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institute on $100,000.00 cash bond.
