Smyrna Police detectives are continuing to investigate an incident in which shots were fired at unoccupied parked vehicles and into a residence.
SMYRNA (DE): It was just after 8:15 p.m. Thursday when three vehicles and a home was shot at in the 300 block of Daniel Rd. Luckily no one was struck by the gunfire.
According to police, Responding units located at least one unoccupied vehicle which had been struck and began canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses. Witnesses told officers that immediately following the shots, they saw suspects running from the area on foot.
A K9 team responded to the area and conducted a search for outstanding suspects on foot but could not find anyone. At least 3 unoccupied parked cars as well as one residence in the area were struck by the gun fire, police say.
According to witness statements, multiple shots were fired in the area.
Detectives are continuing to process evidence and conduct interviews in relation to this incident. The investigation is active and ongoing and there are no further details to release at this time.
