WILMINGTON (DE): A 54-year-old homeless Wilmington man said he was stabbed in the bathroom at the Wilmington Train Station. However, police say that is not true after reviewing video surveillance footage from the train station.
According to police, at approximately 6:20 p.m. Wednesday, they were summoned to the train station for a reported stabbing that had occurred. When they arrived, they say they located the 54-year-old victim suffering from two stab wounds to his torso.
While being treated by New Castle County Paramedics at the scene, he told officers that the stabbing occurred in the 500 block of N. King Street, then changed his story and said the stabbing occurred in the bathroom at the Wilmington Train Station. The victim was then transported to Christiana Hospital where he was taken into surgery.
Police say that no crime scene was located at either location and they are not sure at this time where the crime may have occurred.
“At this time, until the victim can be interviewed, it still has not been determined where the stabbing incident occurred”, police said.
