Police seek multiple suspects in a robbery that occurred while the victims were sitting in their driveway.
GEORGETOWN (DE): Police say that on Wednesday, just before 11:00 p.m., a 16-year-old female and 22-year-old male were sitting in the 16-year-old’s vehicle which was parked in her driveway in the unit block of Merganser Rd in the Sandhill Acres development in Georgetown.
According to police spokeswoman, Melissa Jaffe, while the two were sitting in the driveway, a vehicle pulled up alongside them. That’s when a male exited his vehicle and approached the two victims. At the same time, another male exited the vehicle, armed with a handgun, and ordered the 22-year-old male out of the car. He then demanded the victim turn over his cellphone and wallet.
Police say while the 22-year-old was being being confronted, two more males got out of the suspect vehicle.
Jaffe said, “the 22-year-old turned over his cellphone and wallet prior to all four suspects getting back into their vehicle and fleeing the scene.”
The first suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male wearing a dark colored sweatshirt, with a light-colored bandana partially covering his face and displaying a handgun.
The other two suspects that exited the vehicle could only be described as Hispanic males.
The suspects’ vehicle was described as a white, four door passenger car. No further suspect or vehicle information could be provided at this time. Both victims were not injured as a result of this incident.
