11th Street Streetscape Improvements Project in the city of Wilmington with construction Scheduled to Begin Monday, February 19
WILMINGTON (DE): Starting February 19th, traffic along Pennsylvania Avenue could get nasty during business hours. DELDOT announced lane closures on West 11th Street, North Clayton Street, and on Pennsylvania Avenue for Streetscape Improvements.
According to Ann Gravatt, program manager, “This project will consist of the removal and replacement of curbs and sidewalks, curb ramp upgrades in compliance with ADA, decorative lighting, landscaping, pedestrian signals, and striping along West 11th Street, North Clayton Street, and on Pennsylvania Avenue.”
The contractor’s work hours will be from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m., Monday through Friday on North Clayton Street and West 11th Street. The contractor’s work hours on Pennsylvania Avenue will be from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
One travel lane will be maintained for motorists at all times with parking restrictions in effect on West 11th Street and North Clayton Street during the contractor’s work hours. The construction is anticipated to be complete by late-June, pending weather.
The contractor will place variable message boards to notify motorists and residents of the upcoming project.
