The victim was immediately taken into surgery at Christiana Hospital after being shot near 23rd & Washington Streets in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON (DE): A 16-Year-old boy was rushed into surgery at Christiana Hospital after being shot in Wilmington.

According to Wilmington Police, On Friday, officers were summoned to the 200 block of W. 23rd Street around 12 Noon for a reported shooting that had occurred. Officers arrived to find a 16-Year-old boy, who had been shot in the rear torso area.

The victim, who was not identified, was treated at the scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to Christiana Hospital where he was immediately taken into surgery, and is listed in critical condition.
