Authorities respond to barricade situation at Aberdeen Proving Grounds

Aberdeen Proving Ground Authorities continue monitoring a situation involving an individual who locked himself in a dwelling on post.

ABERDEEN (MD): A man has locked himself inside a residence in the north side of the Aberdeen proving Ground and will not come out.

Officials say, at approximately 8 a.m. this morning, APG emergency dispatch received a phone call from a concerned family member regarding a member of the family who locked himself inside the residence on APG-North.

Authorities responded quickly to the residence and isolated the scene. Police officers remain on scene monitoring the situation, according to a release.

As a precautionary measure, residents within the vicinity of the affected area were notified and are being provided an alternate location to go while the situation is resolved.

The safety and security of Aberdeen Proving Ground residents and personnel is paramount.
