Citizens are not the only ones who are victims of crime and sometimes the ones who protect and serve the community, often become victims. That’s exactly what happened to New Castle County Police, who are now investigating a crime against their Equestrian team.
WILMINGTON (DE): During the months of January and February, 700 bags of Cedarwood shavings went missing from outside the New Castle County Police Equestrian barn which is located on the grounds of Carousel Park according to police spokeswoman, Heather Carter.
Carter said, the wood shavings are used for the horses bedding.
The Equestrian Director for the New Castle County Police Mounted Patrol Unit learned of the thefts, and New Castle County Patrol officers were dispatched to investigate.
During their investigation, police were able to obtain surveillance video that captured a suspect vehicle driving in the parkland within the time frame of when the theft occurred.
