Wilmington Police Investigating Shots Fired Incident In Hilltop Neighborhood

Wilmington Police have responded to the city’s west side in response to a man with a gun.

UPDATE: 1:06 PM: Wilmington Police tell us that nobody was injured in the shooting and will release more information when it becomes available.

WILMINGTON (DE): Police responded to 3rd & N. Franklin Street around 10:00 Am. Unconfirmed sources tell us that the suspect fired several rounds from a gun, however, we are awaiting confirmation and more information from Wilmington Police Department regarding this incident.

Meanwhile, police were seen searching for the suspect and appear to be looking for evidence behind yellow tape. The suspect was able to get away from arriving officers and is believed to be holed up in a residence (unconfirmed).

If your driving in the area, we suggest you avoid the area of N. Franklin Street between 2nd & 3rd streets as police continue their investigation.
