Two juveniles arrested following Thursday afternoon shooting of another teen

In less than 24 hours, Wilmington Police have made two arrests in connection with the shooting incident that took place yesterday afternoon.

WILMINGTON (DE): Police say around 12:57 p.m. Thursday afternoon, they were dispatched to the 400 block of Queen Street in reference to a shooting that had occurred and when they arrived, that’s when they found a 15-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound.

The teen was transported to a local hospital and was listed in stable condition.

According to police spokesman, David Karcas, “Through the course of the evening, investigators determined that the victim was shot accidentally, and detectives identified two 15-year-old male suspects.”

Karcas said police took both suspects into custody without incident. The first 15-year-old male was charged with the following offenses:

• Assault 1st
• Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
• Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
• Tampering with Evidence

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $111,500 cash-only bail.

The second 15-year-old male was charged with the following offenses:

• Tampering with Evidence
• Providing False Statements to Law Enforcement with Intent to Hinder an Investigation

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $3,000 cash-only bail.
