Victim airlifted after being shot during a domestic incident in Bear

A shooting victim was airlifted to Christiana Hospital after being shot in the community of Waterford Trailer Park in Bear Saturday afternoon.

Bear (DE): A shooting victim is in critical condition after being shot during a domestic related shooting Saturday afternoon. Police say around 12:30 they responded to North Huckleberry Avenue in Waterford Trailer Park in Bear for a domestic in progress with a report of a person shot.

According to police spokesman Michel Eckerd, “When the officers arrived, they found a 35-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the lower torso.”

New Castle County Paramedics treated the victim. The victim was transported by a Delaware State Police helicopter to Christiana hospital for treatment.

Officers were able to take one person into custody and detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police arrived on scene and assumed the investigation., Eckerd said.
