Police investigating shooting in Minquadale

The male victim drove himself to an area hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder.

New Castle (DE): Police are investigating a shooting that occurred around 12:30 Monday afternoon in Minquadale. Investigators say that an unknown suspect fired a single round into the victim’s vehicle striking him.

According to police spokesman Michael Austin, “A 20 year old male was seated in the driver’s seat of his vehicle which was parked in the area of Hazeldell Avenue and Milford St., Minquadale.”

“An adult male passenger who was also in the front seat was not injured. The male victim drove himself to an area hospital where he was treated for a non-life threatening gunshot wound to his shoulder.”, Austin said.

There is no suspect description, nor motive for the shooting at this time. Anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact Detective R. Strecker of the Troop 2 Major Crimes Unit by calling 302-365-8413.
