New Castle County Police graduated the 46th class today at a privately held ceremony at New Castle County Police Headquarters.
New Castle: (DE): Due to the COVID-19 virus pandemic, the police graduation that had been planned for last Thursday was canceled. Instead, a private swearing-in ceremony was held at the New Castle County Public Safety Building according to a news release.
According to police spokesman, Michal Eckerd, “We recognize that this was a proud day for our graduating recruits, as well as their friends and family. It was very disappointing for us to make these changes, but current circumstances dictated our decisions. Attendance was kept to a bare minimum so that proper social distancing could be maintained.”
