A Newark man has been hospitalized after answer his door to only been shot by the person who knocked on his door.
Newark (DE): Police are investigating a shooting in the 2000 block of Sunset Lake Rd. in Newark. At approximately 11:00 p.m. Monday night, troopers responded to the home after receiving calls about a shooting at the home. Arriving troopers found a 33-year-old male inside the residence with a single gunshot wound to his torso. He was subsequently transported to an area hospital where he is being treated for the gunshot wound.
According to police spokeswoman Heather Pepper, “The initial investigation has determined the male victim was home alone when he heard a knock at the door. When he opened the door he observed two male subjects standing outside the residence and one shot him.”
The only suspect information known at this time is the one suspect is believed to be white male and the other is believed to be a black male. No clothing or vehicle description is known at this time., pepper said.
