Is the pandemic sending people over the edge? One must wonder after police spent the evening investigating multiple shootings just hours apart from each other.
Wilmington (DE): New Castle County Police say they are investigating two shootings that ocurred last night that are not related but less than three hours from each other.
Police was summoned to the community of Edgemoor around 8:45 Saturday night and “on South Rodney Drive they discovered two victims had suffered non-life threatening injuries.”, said police spokesman Michel Eckerd. “One victim was a 15-year-old female who had been shot in the lower torso and the second was a 13-year-old male who had been shot in the leg.”
Both victims were transported to local area hospitals for treatment., Eckerd said.
Later that night, “Police was summoned to the 2000 block of Pickwick Drive in the community of Limestone Gardens for another report of a shooting. There, they located a 6-year-old victim who had been shot in his arm while inside of the residence.”, Eckerd said.
The child was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury., Eckerd said.

These are not the only two shootings under investigation by law enforcement agencies in Delaware within the past 24 hours.
New Castle County Police are also investigating an early Saturday morning shooting that occurred on Green Street., “When the officers arrived, they learned that there were two victims shot. One victim was a 49-year-old male and the second victim was a 45-year-old female.”, said police spokesman Michel Eckerd. “Both victims are listed in stable condition and are being treated at local area hospitals.”
The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is conducting a death investigation following a stabbing incident that occurred earlier Saturday morning. According to police, “four teens showed up at Laurel Police Department in a vehicle with stab wounds seeking help following an altercation they were involved in in the area of Susan Beach Road in Laurel.”
Wilmington Police are also investigating an officer-involved shooting after one of it’s officers discharged their weapon during a suspicious vehicle traffic stop at 11th & Walnut Streets in the city’s east side. Police later identified Jabri Hunter as the shooting victim and suspect. Hunter was charged with Possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Deadly Weapon by a Person Prohibited, Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $80,200 cash-only bail.
