Many retail stores especially those with 24-hour services have been shuttered over the past few days in fear of recent protests. Most of the Delaware protests have led to violence and looting by outside groups and Wawa was no exception.
Dover (DE): Dover Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at the Dover Wawa on Monday morning around 2;30 Am. The store was closed in fear of protest violence that may end up at their store jeopardizing the safety of employees and customers.
According to police spokesman, Mark Hoffman, “An unknown male suspect shattered a rear glass door to the business. Once inside, the suspect stole tobacco and vape products before fleeing. The suspect was a skinny male with a blue mask and head covering, white t-shirt, and gray sweatpants.”
The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous. Tips may also be submitted to law enforcement through Delaware Crime Stoppers at 800-TIP-3333 or online at delawarecrimestoppers.com; a cash reward of up to $1,000 is possible for information leading to an arrest.
