WILMINGTON (DE): Wilmington Police have identified the two young adults who were shot dead as 17-year-old Nyzere Seth and 23-year-old Alexus Cumberbatch as the latest victims to Wilmington’s gun violence.
Police say it was Wednesday night just before 11:00 in the 1100 block of Beech Street in the Hedgeville neighborhood when four people were shot. Two others who were also shot are in stable condition at a local hospital.

The latest gun violence Wednesday marks the third shooting since Sunday night that has injured at least four teens and three adults. It has also claimed the lives of one teen and one adult.

Monday night, a 17-year-old boy was shot at 12th & Walnut Streets just before 5:00 pm. The teen was transported to a local hospital and was in stable condition at the time. Anyone with information about this incident is encouraged to contact Detective Brandon Mosley at (302) 576-3646.
On Wednesday, a 24-year-old man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition after being shot in the 900 block of North Lombard Street just before 2:00 am. Police said in an updated news release Thursday that he succumbed to his injuries. He was identified as 24-year-old Khalil Ameer-Bey.
