WILMINGTON (DE): Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide in Edgemoore Gardens after New Castle County Police officers on routine patrol in the area drove up on a body face down in the ground.
Police say the discovery happened just after 4:00 a.m. Wednesday morning.
“The New Castle County Police Department foot patrol units were conducting a patrol of Edgemoore Gardens in the area of E. Salisbury Drive.,” said Delaware State Police spokesman Jason Hatchell. “Officers observed a male lying face down in a grassy area. The victim was found to be deceased from an apparent gunshot wound to the back.”
Hatchell said that a canvas of the area showed the scene of the shooting was on the 4800 block of Governor Printz Boulevard in Wilmington.
There is no suspect information at this time., Hatchell said.
