Police: “Singletary put the gun to a female victim’s head and as he pulled the trigger, another family member struck his arm, causing the shot to miss and strike a wall.”
DOVER (DE): Dover Police say they have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a domestic related shooting incident that occurred on September 10, 2020.
According to a news release, police responded to a Willis Road apartment around 2:00 a.m. on September 10th.
Police say Alexander Singletary was at the residence during a domestic related incident and pulled out a 9mm handgun.
“Singletary put the gun to a female victim’s head and as he pulled the trigger, another family member struck his arm, causing the shot to miss and strike a wall.,” said police spokesman Mark Hoffman. “Three additional shots were fired by Singletary in the apartment, causing property damage, but no injuries to the occupants.”
Singletary fled the area and turned himself in at the Dover Police Department on the evening of September 15th., Hoffman said.
According to court records, Singletary was committed to a juvenile detention center on a $205,050 cash bond for Attempted Murder 1st Degree, Possession of Firearm During Commission of Felony, Possession of Firearm by Person Prohibited (juvenile), Assault 2nd Degree, Carrying Concealed Deadly Weapon, Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (4x), Aggravated Menacing (2x), and Criminal Mischief
