A New Jersey man was cited after the rig he was operating overturned on the Rte 141 ramp Friday afternoon.
NEW CASTLE (DE): A 51 year old New Jersey man was cited by Delaware State Police after his rig overturned on the Rte 141 northbound Ramp from Rte 13 Southbound.
Police say the man, who was not identified was operating a 2010 Freightliner Tractor Trailer loaded with fruit when it overturned.
Police tell Delaware Newsline that the driver was charged with careless driving.
In spite of the accident, 141 Northbound had one of the two lanes open for traffic while 141 southbound had both lanes open. Delaware Newsline was on the scene and it did not appear traffic was a major issue.
The 141 northbound ramp was closed for several hours while crews worked to remove the big rig.
DNREC was also called in to assist with cleaning up a minor oil spill from the wreck.
