A few blocks away officers located the vehicle and began investigating the driver, who they say was showing signs consistent with alcohol impairment.
NEWARK (DE): Police are investigating after they say a woman struck a home with her vehicle and left the crash scene.

Newark Police say the accident happened Monday just after midnight in the 600 block of North Country Drive.
Officers were called to a residence where they discovered tire tracks in the grass of a home. Thankfully, the vehicle did not strike the house.
A few blocks away officers located the vehicle and began investigating the driver, who they say was showing signs consistent with alcohol impairment.
The operator who they identified as Diane Petrongolo, 56, of Newark, was taken into custody without incident and charged with Fourth Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol (a felony) and Leaving the Scene of a Crash.
Petrongolo appeared before Justice of the Peace Court #11 by video and was ordered to be held in default of $300 secured bail and was was turned over to the custody of the Delores J. Baylor Women’s Correctional Institution in New Castle.
