A man who had been shot and driven to the hospital in a private vehicle died after health professionals could not revive him using traditional life-saving efforts.
NEW CASTLE (DE): Police say they have arrested two juveniles in connection with a shooting incident that resulted in the death of a man who lived in the Wilton community on Sunday November 22, 2020.
After investigating a nearby homicide in Appleby Estates early Friday night November 13, 2020, New Castle County Police were investigating yet another homicide not far away in the Wilton Development.
Police were notified just before 4:00 p.m. Sunday November 15, 2020, that a man with gunshot wounds had arrived at a local hospital by a private vehicle.
It’s unknown why the victim was driven to a hospital and why 9-1-1 was not called but Police say, although life-saving efforts were provided at the hospital, the victim succumbed to his wounds.
According to police spokesman Lopez Garcia, Officers were able to ascertain that the incident occurred in the community of Wilton, particularly in the area of Ashley Drive.
It’s unknown if the two most recent incidents are related due to it’s proximity to one another.
On Friday November 13, 2020, a man died at a local hospital after officers located him with gunshot wounds on Estates Drive and Conlin Court in Appleby Estates.
According to a news release, Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police apprehended the two male juvenile suspects without incident on November 17, 2020.
One of the juveniles is being held in lieu of $1,040,000 cash bail. The other juvenile was released with $21,000 unsecured bail.
New Castle County Police Chief Colonel Vaughn Bond Jr. weighed in on the senseless tragedy:
“Yet another senseless killing of a young man and sadly committed by juveniles who have altered their course of life. I am grateful that our detectives worked tirelessly to solve this sad case and provide much needed answers to the victim’s family.” said New Castle County Police Chief Colonel Vaughn Bond Jr.
Closure for the family? Not quite because police say they are not done yet. They are still searching for more suspects. “This an active and on-going investigation, detectives from New Castle County Police are searching for additional suspects.,” Said Police spokesman Lopez Garcia.
