34-Year-Old woman is dead after rear-ending a parked tractor trailer on I-95 Monday morning police say.
NEWARK (DE): Delaware State Police say they are investigating a fatal rear-end collision that killed an unidentified 34-year-old woman around 3:00 a.m. Monday morning on I-95.
According to police, the unidentified woman was traveling in a 2007 Ford Fusion on I-95 northbound approaching the junction with State Route 1 when she rear ended a parked tractor trailer.
“The Ford traveled out of the lanes of travel and into the right shoulder then struck the rear of a 2105 Hyundai tractor trailer that was stopped on the right shoulder.,” Said Jason Hatchell, a Delaware State Police spokesman.
The woman, who was wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced deceased at the scene and the operator of the tractor trailer was not injured as a result of the crash., police said.
Interstate 95 northbound was restricted to the left most lane of travel for approximately 4 hours while the collision was investigated and cleared.
