NEWARK (DE): Two people were injured in a Newark home invasion early Sunday morning police say.
Police were investigating the home invasion just before midnight in the unit block of Church Street in the city of Newark.
According to a news release, officers were informed by the two residents that at least seven unknown suspects entered the residence through a front door.
A group of suspects confronted one of the residents and assaulted the victim with a handgun before fleeing the residence.
The second victim was also confronted by another group of suspects who demanded property from the victim at gunpoint. In the process of the robbery, the victim was assaulted and the suspects fled with personal property belonging to the victim.
The suspects were described only as black males and at least two were armed with handguns., police said.
Police say neither victim required medical attention for their injuries.
