NEW CASTLE (DE): New Castle County Police say they are investigating after a 20-year-old woman was shot near the New Castle Walmart Friday night.
While no other injuries were reported, police did say that 14 vehicles and three homes were also struck by the gunfire.
According to police, officers were dispatched to Wilton Boulevard and Stonebridge Boulevard just after 11:15 p.m. for a report of a shooting. At the same time, calls were coming in for another shooting at the Walmart.
When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 20-year-old woman suffering from a gunshot wound in the area of the Walmart.
Police say, the victim was treated by EMS and New Castle County Paramedics before being transported to a local hospital. She was treated and released for minor injuries.
During the course of their investigation, investigators determined that that 14 vehicles and 3 houses had been struck by gunfire.
