48-Year-Old woman shot during violent home invasion Saturday morning

NEWARK (DE): A 48-year-old woman was shot during a violent home invasion early Sunday morning police say.

New Castle County Police were investigating the home invasion in the Todd Estates development just outside Newark around 12:30 a.m. Sunday.

According to police, officers found the 48-year-old female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital after being treated by EMS and New Castle County Paramedics for non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have not released any other information or a suspect description citing the the  investigation is ongoing and in its early stages and that additional information will be released as it becomes available.
