ayor Mike Purzycki and City Finance Director J. Brett Taylor have announced a parking ticket amnesty program to give violators of city parking regulations the ability to clear parking tickets issued between January 1, 2017 and December 31, 2019.
Those wishing to take advantage of this program may pay their parking tickets at face value, with all penalties being waved.
The Parking Ticket Amnesty Program will run throughout the month of January, beginning Friday January 1, 2021, and ending on Sunday, January 31, 2021.
Only tickets issued in the years 2017, 2018, and 2019 will be eligible for the program. Payment of the original fine amount will satisfy the full amount due.
“These are difficult times for our constituents,” said the Mayor who commented today from the hospital where he is recovering from heart surgery. “The Amnesty Program provides an opportunity for people with old unpaid parking tickets to satisfy this obligation at a substantially reduced cost. It’s a chance to start off the year with a clean slate.”
Payment for parking violations can be made online at www.wilmingtonparkingtickets.com.
