It’s unknown if alcohol played a factor in the crash and police say the investigation is ongoing at this time.
PIKE CREEK (DE): Three people were seriously injured in an early morning crash in Pike Creek New Castle County Police say.
The crash, which occurred on Skyline Drive and Ambler Court was the first crash recorded for the New Year.
Police say the 21-year-old driver was operating a 2012 Infinity G37 eastbound on Skyline Drive when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree.
There was two other people in the car at the time of the crash and they were all transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
The 21-year-old driver of the Infinity is being treated for a left scalp fracture, and is in critical but stable condition.
The front passenger, a 24-year-old female, is being treated for her injuries and is in stable condition.
The rear passenger, a second 24-year-old female, is also being treated for her injuries, and she too is listed in critical but stable condition.
