During the process of taking the juvenile into custody, police said 38-year-old Tanise Dinkins attempted to pull the officer away.
WILMINGTON (DE): Wilmington Police say they have arrested a 15-Year-Old juvenile who they say led them on a foot pursuit after they tried to make contact with him. Police recovered a 9mm starter gun loaded with blanks from his persons.
The incident occurred on January 3 at around 2:00 p.m. in the 2400 block of North Madison Street.
“An officer was on proactive patrol when he observed the 15-year-old male juvenile acting suspiciously. When the officer attempted to make contact with the juvenile, he fled on foot.,” said police spokesman Dave Karas.
During the process of taking the juvenile into custody, police said 38-year-old Tanise Dinkins attempted to pull the officer away. The officer called for backup, and more units arrived. Both the juvenile and Dinkins was taken into custody without further incident, police said.
36-year-old Damien Townsend was also arrested at the scene. Police say Townsend arrived on scene and began to act in a disorderly manner. He was quickly taken into custody without incident.
The 15-year-old male juvenile was charged with Resisting Arrest, and Carrying a Concealed Dangerous Instrument. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $2,000 secured bail.
Dinkins was charged with Hindering Prosecution, Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, and Resisting/Hindering a Police Officer. She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on her own recognizance.
Townsend was charged with Disorderly Conduct, and Breach of Release. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,000 unsecured bail.
