Two juveniles are behind bars and facing serious charges after investigators connect them to a December shooting incident.
WILMINGTON (DE): A 19-year-old Wilmington man was hospitalized in critical condition after police say he was shot by one of the two teens during a December robbery-turned shooting.
Wilmington Police say it happened on December 9, 2020 in the 100 block of Stroud Street in Browntown.
At the scene, officers located the victim who was transported by ambulance in critical condition to a local hospital.
The victim survived the shooting and investigators identified a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male as suspects in the incident.
On January 14, detectives and members of the Crisis Management Tactical team executed search warrants in the 400 block of East 2nd Street and the 700 block of East 9th Street.
Police took the 15-year-old male into custody without incident. Police say they also recovered ammunition. He has been charged with Assault (First Degree), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Attempted Robbery (First Degree), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and Conspiracy (Second Degree). He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $215,000 cash-only bail.
At another address, police took the 17-year-old male suspect into custody without incident, and he has been charged with Attempted Robbery (First Degree) and Conspiracy (Second Degree). He was arraigned in New Castle County Family Court and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $90,000 cash-only bail.
