Colonel Vaughn Bond Jr. reflected on this senseless tragedy
“I am deeply saddened yet again at the loss of another young life in New Castle County. This senseless act of violence has no place in our communities, and I want to share my deepest condolences with the Rollins family. Unfortunately, it has become commonplace in New Castle County that many are reluctant to provide investigators with information about those who are responsible for destroying families and neighborhoods one bullet at a time.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police, Criminal Investigation Unit, continue to tirelessly investigate this incident and have been since the early morning, they won’t stop until they secure justice for Ms. Rollins-Townsend and her family. They can’t do it alone; we know there are individuals out there with knowledge of this incident, and we need them to come forward. No matter how insignificant you may think that information is, we need you to share it with our investigators.
I understand the reluctance in coming forward for a witness; however, there are platforms such as Crime Stoppers where information can be provided anonymously. You can also provide a tip at the New Castle County Police website. Until we all work together, violent offenders will continue to destroy our families and communities. We can’t do this by ourselves, it takes a collective effort from all if we want to have safer and better communities.”
