A 39-Year-Old Claymont man who was jogging in the area of his home, was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle on Glenrock Drive Thursday evening police said.
CLAYMONT (DE) 05/04/21: A 39-Year-Old Claymont man who was jogging in the area of his home, was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle who did not remain at the scene on Glenrock Drive Thursday evening police said.
New Castle County Police said it was around 6:00 p.m., when first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Glenrock Drive and Miles Road, in the community of Radnor Green, for the report of a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle.
At the scene, officers discovered the 39-year-old male victim suffering from injuries to his upper body. After being treated at the scene by EMS and New Castle County Paramedics, the victim was transported to a local area hospital where he is listed in serious condition.
Investigators arrived at the scene shortly after and determine that the vehicle was traveling on Glenrock Drive away from Harvey Road when the victim was struck. Investigators say the vehicle then fled the area.
Investigators also determined that victim was jogging at the time of the incident.
