The victim was approached by an unknown suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded her out of the vehicle at a North Wilmington intersection.
CLAYMONT (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: A 20-Year-Old woman who was sitting at a north Wilmington intersection was carjacked early Monday morning Delaware State Police said.
Police say the incident happened around 1:00 a.m. at the intersection of Philadelphia Pike and Harvey Road.
According to police, “A 20-year-old victim operating a blue Ford Fiesta was stopped in the left turn lane of northbound Philadelphia Pike at Harvey Road. The victim was approached by an unknown suspect who displayed a handgun and demanded her out of the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled the scene in the stolen vehicle.”
Police say the victim was not injured as a result of the incident.
Police are now searching for the vehicle and the suspect, who was described as a black male approximately 5’3”-5’5” tall wearing dark clothing and a mask.
