Although, no one was injured during the incident, the vehicle was struck once in the passenger side door.
HARRINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Delaware State Police say a 71-Year-Old Harrington man was standing outside his home when he raised a riffle and shot at a vehicle that was passing by on Fox Hunters Road Sunday night.
71-Year-Old Donald Spiering is facing numerous charges including Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony (Felony), 2 counts- Reckless Endangering 1st Degree (Felony), and 2 counts- Aggravated Menacing- (Felony)
Police say Spiering knew one of the two men that was in the vehicle, an 18-year-old man who also had a 19-Year-Old passenger.
Although, no one was injured during the incident, the vehicle was struck once in the passenger side door.
It’s not clear why Spiering shot at the vehicle but police say when Troopers made contact with Spiering they were able to arrest him without incident.
Spiering was arraigned in the Justice of the Peace Court #7 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on a $14,000.00 secured bond.
