One woman is dead and two others injured during an early Tuesday afternoon shooting. Two police officers were also injured during a crash while responding to the scene.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Wilmington Police is investigating an early Tuesday afternoon shooting that injured two women and claimed the life of another.
Police said officers began arriving in the 1000 block of North Pine Street around 2:00 p.m. and located three victims.
37-Year-Old Lateshia Hill was identified by family members as the woman who died at the scene during Tuesday’s early afternoon gun violence. Two other women, a 26-Year-Old and a 23-Year-Old, were rushed to a local area hospital in stable condition.
Two police officers who were also responding to the scene were involved in a crash on South Heald Street and C Street, near the Southbridge section of Wilmington. One of the patrol cars overturned during the crash.
The officers were transported to an area hospital for an evaluation however, their conditions remain unknown at this time. The driver of the other car was also transported to a local area hospital in stable condition. Police say there was a third vehicle involved in the crash however it was unoccupied.
