A suspect is in custody and a Claymont man is fighting for his life after being shot while placing his infant child in his vehicle in Claymont Monday afternoon.
CLAYMONT (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: New Castle County Police are investigating a shooting in Claymont that sent a 31-Year-Old man to a hospital in critical condition.
Police say the victim, who was not identified, was putting his infant child in his vehicle when he was shot Monday afternoon in the unit block of Denham Avenue in Claymont.
Police say the shooting happened around 2:45 p.m. and say the child was not injured as a result of the shooting.
“Upon their arrival, the officers discovered a 31-year-old male suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. Officers rendered aid, and the victim was air lifted to a local area hospital.” | Lopez Garcia, NCCPD Spokesman.
Through investigative methods, detectives were able to develop Enfiniti Webb as a suspect for this incident. During the nighttime hours, officers from the Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team served the arrest warrant and apprehended Webb without incident., police said in a Tuesday news release.
Webb was charged with one Felony count of Attempted Murder in the First Degree, one Felony count of Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and one count of Felony Reckless Endangerment in the First Degree.
Webb was processed and arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11and is held in lieu of $625, 000 cash bail.
