Police: While police were attempting to de-escalate the situation, they observed 43-year-old Deshawn Butcher pointing a handgun at a group of people including police officers on scene.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Wilmington Police say they have arrested a woman they say pointed a handgun at a crowd of people and officers who was responding to a fight with a large crowd.
43-Year-Old Deshawn Butcher is facing several charges after police was called to the 300 block of 8th Avenue in Browntown on Tuesday April 18, 2021 around 5:15 p.m. for a large crowd with a fight in progress.
According to police, when officers arrived at the scene, they observed a large crowd that was acting disorderly and actively fighting.

As officers attempted to take her into custody, 42-year-old Mateo Butcher hindered her arrest by grabbing officers and attempting to pull them away from Butcher. Police were eventually able to take both subjects into custody without further incident and recovered a 9mm handgun., Karas added.
Police also took 24-year-old Quashie Smith-Ross and 22-year-old Brian Valmond into custody for disorderly conduct.

Deshawn Butcher was charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Aggravated Menacing (3 counts), and Terroristic Threatening.
She was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on her own recognizance.

Mateo Butcher was charged with Offensive Touching of a Law Enforcement Officer, Hindering Prosecution, and Disorderly Conduct.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on his own recognizance.

Smith-Ross was charged with Disorderly Conduct.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on his own recognizance.

Valmond was charged with Disorderly Conduct.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on his own recognizance.
