Elderly man dies in Little Creek house trailer fire Sunday afternoon

A house trailer fire in Little Creek claimed the life a 61-Year-Old man late Saturday afternoon, the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s office says.

DOVER (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: One man is dead and a woman is injured following a house trailer fire in Little Creek Sunday.

Officials say a 61-Year-Old man was found deceased in the trailer and a 67-year-old female sustained smoke inhalation and was in stable condition at Bayhealth Kent Hospital.

Little Creek Fire Company was summoned to the unit block of 10th Street near Pickering Beach Road around 4:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon.

Officials say arriving units saw flames coming from the trailer.

State fire investigators are currently on the scene searching for the fire’s origin and cause.  The house trailer was heavily damaged.  Fire damage was estimated at $20,000.  Two nearby campers were not damaged. 

The American Red Cross was requested to provide emergency assistance to four displaced residents.
