Police: The female was transported to a local area hospital where she later succumbed to her wounds, and the male was pronounced dead at the scene.
BEAR (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: New Castle County Police are investigating a homicide after an 80-Year-Old man was found deceased following a domestic violence incident in the Victoria Woods development Friday morning.
Police say earlier this morning, patrol officers were dispatched to the 700 block of Mill Creek Court, in the Victoria Woods community for a report of a domestic incident involving a weapon.
“When the patrol officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a 43-year-old female suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and an 80-year-old male suffering from a single gunshot wound.,” Said police spokesman Michel Eckerd. “Emergency first aid was provided by the officers and EMS personnel.”
“The female was transported to a local area hospital where she later succumbed to her wounds, and the male was pronounced dead at the scene.,” Eckerd added.
A co-worker who could not be identified said, “I worked with the woman who was shot. It was a gut punch to all of us today to hear about this. She was extremely nice and just an all-around good person. Rest in peace, and may the murderer be forgotten from history.”
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. Detectives say the investigation is still in the early stages, and that there is no threat to the public.
