The once a year event was held Friday May 28,2021 at the H.B. Dupont Plaza which is at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and North Washington Street in downtown Wilmington

There was five guided rides into the City and according to city officials it’s a popular cycling event that has been taking place since 2010.

Each ride began at 7:45 a.m. and ended with a reception at the plaza from 8 -9:30 a.m. The event was free, but registration was required.

This was a great opportunity to experience the City by bicycle with an experienced ride leader and meet fellow cyclists as well.

All registered participants received free refreshments and a free t-shirt.

“I am happy that Bike-to-Work Day is returning to the City this year, and that the event continues to get the support it does from employees and other Wilmington residents,” said Mayor Purzycki. “I am also pleased that the City remains actively engaged in encouraging a healthy lifestyle and responsible stewardship of our environment. Given our size, Wilmington is a very bikeable environment. Biking is an affordable, eco-friendly, and healthy way to travel back and forth to the office, run short errands, and visit friends, so I hope Wilmingtonians of all ages will consider becoming a part of the local biking community.”
