New Castle County Police are asking the public for help in identifying a suspect who they say used a stolen credit card.
NEW CASTLE (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: New Castle County Police say they are investigating after a credit card was used from a stolen purse that was left inside a car that was parked at the Midway Softball field in New Castle.
Police say the incident happened on Monday May 17, 2021 but wasn’t reported until Wednesday May 26, 2021.
It’s unknown why the 41-Year-Old victim waited so long to report the theft but her purse contained multiple credit cards and her identification, and the fraudulent activity could had been prevented had the crime of been reported when it happened.
According to police, the victim told the investigating officers that she noticed unknown transactions on her bank account and learned that some of her checks had been forged and cashed. Police said that the investigation then revealed that it was found that the suspect cashed three fraudulent checks at a drive-thru teller utilizing the victim’s driver’s license for identification.
The officers were able to obtain this photograph of the suspects and are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the people in the picture.
