There’s at least two vehicle involved in the crash and an overturned trailer prompted a response from a DNREC emergency response team.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Delaware State Police are investigating a crash on I-495 that has closed lanes and diverted traffic to I-95 this morning.
The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning on I-495 Northbound just north of the 12th street exit.
There’s at least two vehicle involved in the crash and an overturned trailer prompted a response from a DNREC emergency response team.

By 9:00 a.m. the two left lanes were closed, allowing for only one lane of traffic to pass the crash scene and by 9:30 a.m., DELDOT began closing all ramps and began diverting traffic to I-95 North.
Shortly after 10:00 a.m. DELDOT reported two left lanes are now OPEN to traffic on I-495 Northbound at the I-95/I-495 Split.
However, the two right lanes remain closed on I-495 Northbound.
There’s no word yet on what if any chemicals were being hauled in the trailer that overturned, or if there were any injuries.
