Wilmington Police say detectives have arrested two teens in connection to a shooting that occurred on June 9, 2021.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Wilmington Police say an 18-year-old and a 15-year-old was arrested without incident in connection with what has been determined to have been a shooting incident.
According to police, A 28-year-old man who was shot on June 9, 2021, arrived at a local hospital in critical condition. Detective Ford was assigned the investigation and police say through through the course of his investigation, it was determined that the injury resulted from a shooting incident that took place on that date at approximately 3:01 p.m. in the 200 block of Garden Court. Detective Ford identified two suspects – 18-year-old Nazer Hayman-Cooper and a 15-year-old male – in connection with this incident.
On June 16, members of the Crisis Management Tactical Team, Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division and the Street Crimes Unit located both suspects and took them into custody without incident.
Cooper has been charged with Assault (First Degree), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Attempted Robbery (First Degree), Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and Conspiracy (Second Degree).
Cooper was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $67,000 secured bail.
The 15-year-old male has been charged with the same crimes and was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $106,000 secured bail.
