Another child is dead after being shot in the city’s Harlan Park neighborhood Tuesday night, police say.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Wilmington Police are investigating a shooting that has claimed the life of yet another child in the city’s Harlan Park neighborhood.
Police say the shooting occurred just before 6:00 p.m. in the 500 block of W. 35th street.
Patrol officers arrived at the scene to find a 14-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound. After being treated by EMS and New Castle County Paramedics, the child was transported to a local area hospital where he died.
At the scene, a bicycle laid nearby and investigators seemed to be focused on a specific vehicle analyzing it for possible evidence.
On Wednesday, police identified the child as Christopher Smith.
